Benefit Review: Fan Fest Mascara

Benefit recently launched their new Fan Fest Mascara and I couldn’t wait to try it. I’ve been using Benefit since I first started wearing makeup, so it’s always exciting when they release a new product!

Mascara is one of my favourite makeup products to wear and I always tend to stick to the ones that I know work. I’ve been using the Maybelline Sky High Mascara for a couple of years now because it makes my lashes look amazing, so the Fan Fest had a lot to live up to!

Let’s start with the packaging

The swirly effect on the tube is absolutely stunning and I’ve sat and twirled it around in my hands more times than I’d like to admit 😂

I was so excited to see that it’s a bristle brush, because until Sky High I had always insisted that my mascara brushes had long bristles. I just feel like it really helps to coat every lash so much better and is good for layering!

Fan Fest Mascara: the results

As soon as you start applying the Fan Fest Mascara you can see how good it is. I’m impatient and don’t want to have to apply 30 layers to get the results I want, but even within just a couple of coats the lashes POP.

The curve in the brush makes it so much quicker to apply too, as it helps to get more lashes in every flick.

I think my absolute favourite thing about the mascara is that it doesn’t get clumpy! Sometimes when I’m applying Sky High and I’m a few coats in the lashes start to stick together and go a bit spider-y, but when I tell you that the Fan Fest truly fans the lashes I mean it!

If you want to go for a more natural look you could just apply one or two coats and it looks flawless. Then you can layer it up to get super thick, long, fanned out lashes perfect for a night out.

I did get a little bit of transfer on my upper eyelid, however I do have quite long lashes and oily skin, so pretty much every mascara transfers on my eyelid on a night out. I think it might be a me-problem because the makeup and beauty TikToker @mikaylanogueira says it doesn’t transfer whatsoever for her.

All in all, I give it a 5/5. Step aside Sky High, I think this might just be my favourite new mascara!
