Christophe Robin hair care review

Christophe Robin is a brand that just exudes luxury.

From its product packaging and unique textures, right down to its ingredients, it gives you the sense that you’re indulging your hair in a treat.

Just listen to this list of hero ingredients: prickly pear, sea salt, camu-camu berries, rose, chia seeds, Tahitian algae, the list goes on…

But do the products live up to their expectations?

Leave it to the reviewing masters at Desyr to find out.

Although the reviewed products were sent as PR Products to get our founder Nina’s opinion, this review will remain entirely impartial and honest as always.

So, Christophe Robin, is it worth the buy? Let’s find out.

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt

At first, I was a little sceptical about trying the scalp scrub. I’ve tried a scalp scrub before from another brand and didn’t really enjoy it — it wasn’t very easy to rub into the scalp. It felt like I was pulling the roots of my hair out and it felt difficult to rinse.

For the Christophe Robin sea salt scrub, they recommend about a teaspoon amount. Who actually uses the recommended amount of shampoo and conditioner though? That’s like paying attention to the portion sizes in a sharing bag of crisps.

I used slightly more than a teaspoon and started to massage it in. I wet my head a bit to allow some of the salt to dissolve and make it easier to use. If you love a good scalp massage or a head scratch — who doesn’t? — then you’ll love this scrub.

I could feel that it was starting to lather up, but as my hair was so greasy (I have pretty oily roots) I went for a round two.

Round two was even better. It lathered up so much more and made my hair feel so clean, plus I felt like I could get down to the roots even more easily for a good exfoliation.

When I was out of the shower, I checked my scalp for any dead skin and couldn’t see any at all! Usually there might still be some near the front of my scalp but it was completely clean. I was very impressed indeed!

My hair usually gets greasy after three to four days, but after using this scrub it lasted a solid six days! I love not having to wash my hair too often as it helps to keep it healthy.

Christophe Robin Delicate Volumising Shampoo and Conditioner With Rose Extracts

From the minute I opened the box that the products came in, I could smell the rose from the volumising shampoo and conditioner — It smelled incredible.

My hair is naturally quite flat and lacks volume, so I was intrigued to try these products.

When my hair was dry, I definitely felt like it had more volume, without feeling weighed down by product. I’m not a fan of putting in sticky sprays and root lifting powders, so it was nice to see a bit of natural lift without needing anything extra.

As the shampoo and conditioner specified volume, but not moisture, I was worried that my hair would look frizzy when it dried — but it didn’t!

It felt lightweight and soft and had a little extra volume without feeling dry. That’s what I call a win win.
